This is shaping up to be a very eventful year for me.
On 1st January I had the pleasure of officiating at the wedding of a young couple who sailed into our small coastal town, on a cruise ship.
They had made the decision to tie the knot here in this beautiful setting and I was asked to be their celebrant. It was a wonderful day with two very much in love people surrounding by the magical beauty of Kaikoura.
Two days later I attended the 60th wedding anniversary of dear friends. Surrounded by the wonderful achievements of their life together, it was a time of great joy and admiration for two people who had weathered all manner of life’s challenges and survived with deep love for each other and their family.
It occurred to me that contrary to popular opinion, the desire to want to commit to partnership for life, with all that it entails, is still as strong as ever.
With 10 decades of marriage to my husband, I am well versed in the effort that needs to go into the commitment, but it’s worth it.
I truly mean that Love is Always worth it.
